Barry Beard Competes in 2006 Transplant Olympics; Earns Silver Medal in Badminton
30-year-old Barry Beard has cystinosis and had a kidney transplant at the age of 23. He has competed on Team Philadelphia in the Transplant Olympics for several years. This year Barry won a silver medal in badminton. He also competed on a co-ed basketball team.
