| More information: | The third event was another extraordinary golf outing. This one was the Long Island Plumbing Contractors Association Golf Outing. CRN was named as the charity to receive the proceeds from this annual event this year. The LIPCA have held these outings for the last 14 years and this one was even that much more special as the Maccarone Family from Syosset, New York were driving force behind this special day. John Maccarone was recently named to the CRN Board of Directors. This day began with registration and a buffet breakfast and than a beautiful day of golf on a picture perfect fall day in New York. The evening’s fabulous surf and turf dinner was high lighted by a speech by Dr. Rick Kaskel. Marybeth Krummenacker thanked the organizers of the event – Joe and Diana Kaufman for all of their efforts in making the day so wonderful. She also thanked the entire Board of Directors of the LIPCA for their incredible support and generosity. Dr. Kaskel, Marybeth and Jose Morales were each presented with a plaque for their work with CRN. The evening culminated with the Cystinosis Research Network receiving a check for $50,000 and the commitment to holding the 2010 golf outing in our name as well.

NEWS RELEASE
The Plumbing Contractors Association of Long Island, Inc. is holding its fourteenth annual golf outing at which the Cystinosis Research Network will be its designated charity. This outing is billed as an industry event hosted at Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore, New York and will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 (weather permitting). The Cystinosis Research Network was chosen by golf committee chairman Mr. George Luksch, of Seaford Avenue Plumbing in conjunction with Mr. John Maccarone of Maccarone Plumbing who has had personal experience with Cystinosis and consequently could attest to the need for continued research on a treatment for this disease.
The Association would like to extend a personal note of thanks to Ms. Marybeth Krummenacker for her insight and direction on how the Association can best become a partner with CRN. In particular, Marybeth was instrumental in obtaining Dr. Kaskel of Montefiore Children’s Hospital , he is the director of pediatric nephrology and vice chair of Affiliate & Network Relations, an experienced researcher on Cystinosis he will also be the evening’s guest speaker
The Association hopes to raise funds, in part, through its solicitation of all member contractors, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and related professionals who will be attending, purchasing tee signs and otherwise active in a sponsorship role.
